What is a giclée?
A giclée is an individually produced, high-fidelity reproduction done on a special, large format printer.
The colors are brighter, last longer and are so high-resolution that they are virtually continuous tone,
rather than tiny dots. Giclée art prints are coveted by collectors and displayed in museums.
Giclée reproduction offers beautiful tonal renditions.
What is the difference between a giclée and a litho?
Giclées are priced midway between original art and regular limited edition lithographs. Limited edition litho prints
are usually produced in editions of 500-1000 or more, all at once.
Giclées rarely exceed 50 reproductions, one at a time.

Brand New, Just Arrived! "ME AND MY SHADOW"

In 1970 Don Nichols, founder of Advanced Vehicules Systenes (AVS) master-minded the AVS Shadow Mk1. Although the conventional "Chevy" big block engine was used everything else on the car was innovative. The fundamental design approach was to reduce aerodynamic drag hence increased velocity would be available. The minimal frontal area was achieved by using 17" front tires making the car very distinctive. Unfortunately it struggled with handling, braking (smaller tires meant smaller brake rotors) and overheating problems. Depicted is the fast and experienced Vic Elford driving the car at Mid-Ohio in 1970

Langhecks at Le Mans

The "Langheck" was the absolute culmination of Porsche 917 development as a long distance racer, endeavouring to achieve low drag, and hence low fuel consumption, with stability.
For Le Mans 1971, the Longtail Coupe of Vic Elford and Gérard Larrousse, entered by Martini International Racing Team, attained a speed of 240 mph (386 km/h) along the Mulsanne Straight. The charismatic car is depicted leading two Ferrari 512Ms and the JWA Gulf 917 of Derek Bell and Jo Siffert, as they sweep through the right hand curve after the pit straight toward the Dunlop bridge.

The Longest Night

The Salzburg Team Porsche 917 LH of
Vic Elford/Kurt Ahrens is depicted battling the similar Martini Racing "Long Tail" of Gerard Larrousse/Willy Kauhsen at dusk in what was the wettest Le Mans for many years. Although leading the race and with Vic Elford becoming the first driver ever at an average of over 150 mph at the Sarthe, the white unforgiving "Long Heck" was eventually forced into retirement.
The #3 car eventually finished in second position behind the winning 917K of Richard Attwood and Hans Herrmann shown in the study to the left. Portrayed in the right hand study is the third placed, class winning Porsche 908 of Rudi Lins and Helmut Marko.
This stunning giclée is a Special Edition commissioned by Vic Elford. It will not be offered for sale anywhere else!

In appalling weather conditions Pedro, partnered with Leo Kinnunen, drove his JW automotive Porsche 917 to a memorable Victory, despite an early black flag and stern opposition from Vic Elford in #11 Porsche/Salzburg which finished 2nd.
